Dr. Hindman is a licensed psychologist who specializes in providing treatment and training in evidence-based therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches. He’s licensed in Pennsylvania and also holds a PSYPACT license.
Dr. Hindman specializes in anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder, illness anxiety disorder, phobias, and post-traumatic stress disorder. He also treats other conditions, such as major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, body dysmorphic disorder, trichotillomania, excoriation disorder, and insomnia. Additionally, Dr. Hindman works with individuals who don’t have a formal psychiatric diagnosis but are looking for way to reduce stress or improve their overall sense of well-being.
Dr. Hindman received a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, his PhD in clinical psychology at the Catholic University of America, and a postdoctoral fellowship at Beck Institute.
He stayed on as a clinical staff member at BI for nine years, which included seeing clients in the clinic, training other therapists how to conduct more effective therapy through supervision and workshops, and writing on CBT-related topics. Specifically, he taught courses on CBT for depression, anxiety disorder, personality disorders, and how to integrate mindfulness into CBT. Dr. Hindman continues to serve as a faculty member at the Beck Institute where he provides supervision to therapists in CBT and conducts various trainings.
