About
Paul Kawkabany, MA, MSc, DipA-CBT, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Educational Psychologist, and member of the Lebanese Order of Psychologists. He is certified as a Beck Institute CBT Certified Clinician (BICBT-CC) and a Diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (A-CBT). With expertise in treating mental health conditions such as personality disorders, suicidality, anxiety, mood disorders, and PTSD, Paul is a highly trained therapist in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), having received intensive training from the Beck Institute and Behavioral Tech.
Paul holds two master’s degrees in psychology and has completed extensive training in various therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, REBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Prolonged Exposure (PE). He trained under distinguished experts like Dr. Judith S. Beck, Dr. Alec Miller, Dr. Lata K. McGinn, Dr. Paul Gilbert OBE, and Russ Harris. He has led the first CBT and ACT study groups in the MENA region and coordinated workshops and programs such as ITCM (Integrating Therapeutic Strategies into the Cognitive Model) and MAAN.
Paul is the author of “A Therapist’s Compass: Mapping Your Journey to Mastery,” a book that reflects his dedication to therapy and continuous learning. As a university instructor and the training coordinator at Psypaulogie, Paul provides consultation sessions to mental health professionals and psychology students, as well as both online and in-person therapy sessions. He also contributes to the field by translating psychotherapy materials into Arabic.
Paul was supervised by Dr. Norman Cotterell, Senior Psychologist at Beck institute.
