Assistant Director of CBT Programs

Sofia M. Chernoff, PsyD, is a clinical health psychologist and the Assistant Director of CBT Programs at Beck Institute, where she manages the daily operations for training and clinical services. Dr. Chernoff earned her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from La Salle University. She consequently completed an APA-accredited internship and a postdoctoral fellowship at WellSpan Health, under the supervision of Dr. Allen Miller. Dr. Chernoff’s clinical and research interests include CBT interventions and program development aimed to improve lives of individuals with chronic illnesses. As a health psychologist with a large academic medical center, she worked with adults presenting with a variety of acute and chronic pain syndromes and delivered training and supervision to medical and psychology trainees. Dr. Chernoff additionally provided services to patients in primary care as well as ObGyn settings and addressed the complex needs of “super-utilizers” of medical care as a part of an interdisciplinary team.

Dr. Chernoff is a Beck Institute CBT Certified Clinician (BICBT-CC). She currently provides CBT supervision and consultation in both English and Russian.
