About
My Name is Rebecca Ramos, LCSW, BICBT-CC. I opened Brass City Counseling, LLC as a solo practitioner in 2018, in Waterbury Connecticut. In 2009, I graduated from NYU with my master’s degree in social work, most of my work prior to 2018 pertained to community-based therapy. I previously facilitated intensive outpatient programs focused on mental health and addiction. I have also worked facilitating groups for anger management, and interpersonal abuse. In my practice, I place the therapeutic relationship as a priority. I make it a habit to ask you, “how are we doing”, “how is this going for you”, “as well as what do you need from me moving forward”, “or what needs to be different in our work together”. Transparency, collaboration, and commitment are very important in helping you achieve your goals. Areas of treatment I focus on pertain to anxiety, addiction (drug/alcohol) along with working with individuals/families healing from domestic violence/interpersonal abuse. We all have moments in life that can feel unbearable. These moments can be related to life altering events, possibly a new or chronic mental health diagnosis, or addiction. I would very much like to meet you, and help support you in figuring out your life’s path, as well as figure out how to make the unbearable, bearable. I use a collective of treatments, including Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, somatic exercises, play, art, as well as Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). In august 2023, I completed a 2 year continuing education program to become a registered play therapist, as of May 2022, I completed a 1.5 year continuing education training in DBT, I am currently working to complete my certification in DBT.
