Following 26 years of military service I began working as a licensed therapist with individuals, couples, and families. I have experience in leadership, arbitration and mediation, mentoring, team building, crisis management, individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and trauma therapy. As a military veteran who served in Iraq, I have personal knowledge of the special challenges our military veterans and their families endure.
During my 10 years of professional counseling, I have received training in the following areas: Level 3 Gottman Couples Method Trained and training as a Gottman Seven Principles Leader and Approved Gottman Couples Method Provider; Certified Family Mediator through the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC); Accredited DISC Personality Style Training Provider, Human Behavioral Consultant and Certified Human Behavioral Studies-Trainer Provider through the Insights Institute in Atlanta, Georgia; Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) from the Ellis Institute in New York City; Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) from the Metaphysical Society. I received training from the Beck Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in Cognitive Behavior Therapy for emotional disorders, personality disorders, treatment of children and adolescents, and persons suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); Certified “Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts” (SYMBIS) Assessment Facilitator; EMDR trained through EMDRIA Approved EMDR Consulting; REBT basic and advanced training through the Ellis Institute.
